Rosemary Chemutai Koech-Kimwatu popularly known as “Chemu” has bid us farewell.

She has been at the agency for 3 years and 2 weeks. During her tenure she has revolutionized the Public Policy department. She served as the Head of Public Policy and as a Legal and Regulatory Specialist while at Oxygene.
Previously, Rosemary served as the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at WayaWaya; the Senior Associate Legal and Regulatory Affairs specialist at the Mobile Decisioning Holding Ltd (MODE); and contributed to the establishment of Caritas Microfinance Bank while serving as a Legal and Administrative Officer Caritas Nairobi.
Cumulatively, Chemu has over 10 years of experience in fintech and is contributor to the fintech ecosystem having played an instrumental role in the establishment and growth of the Nairobi Legal Hackers, the Digital Innovation Group (Caucus) and is a member of the Kenya ICT Action Network otherwise referred to as (KICTANET).
While at Oxygene, her prowess in spotting the interlinkages between law and innovation was unparalleled which contributed to the expansion of knowledge and skills of the public policy department and the company overall. This has improved overall service delivery to clients who can attest to timely advisories that are informed and well researched.
Colleagues will definitely miss the explanatory anecdotes on various policy issues that always began with her common phrase “Let me tell you…”
She now joins Safaricom, one of our esteemed clients, as a Public Policy Manager focusing on telco specific regulatory issues.
