Japheth Kiplangat Mutai is a Kenyan politician and a current Member of Parliament for Bureti Constituency in Kericho County. Japheth Mutai has been a member of the Jubilee Party (JP), since 2017 and an Aspirant Member of Parliament of Republic of Kenya representing Bureti constituency. In 1992, Japheth Mutai joined The University of Liverpool to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and graduated in 1996. Between 2005 and 2006, Japheth Mutai went to Kenya School of Law to take Post Graduate Diploma in Law. In 2002, Japheth Mutai got a job at Chelule & Co Advocates as an Advocate where he worked for three years. From 2008 to 2011, he moved to Mwihia & Co. Advocates as an Advocate. Since 2011, Japheth Mutai works at Mwihia, Mutai & Co. Advocates as an Advocate/Proprietor. From 2013 to 2017, Japheth Mutai joined Kericho County Assembly as a Speaker. In 2017, Japheth Mutai joined Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament for Bureti Constituency. He is a member of the following committees: Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs and Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee.
